Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 April 2026
Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how Publabs ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit publabs.co.uk. It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control their use.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device and remember certain information — such as whether you are logged in — across page loads and visits.
We also make limited use of localStorage, a browser storage mechanism similar to cookies but stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
Cookies We Use
We use only the cookies strictly necessary to operate the platform. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
| Cookie / Storage Key | Provider | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* (auth session) | Supabase | Stores your authenticated session so you remain logged in between pages and visits. | Strictly Necessary |
| dev_access | Publabs | Grants access to the platform during its development / coming-soon phase. Removed once the site is publicly available. | Strictly Necessary |
| inbox_dismissed_notifications_* inbox_viewed_notifications_* | Publabs (localStorage) | Stores which inbox notifications you have viewed or dismissed, so the state persists between sessions. Stored locally in your browser only. | Functional |
| _grecaptcha / rc::* | Google (reCAPTCHA) | Used to distinguish humans from bots on forms. Google may set additional cookies to support this service. | Security / Functional |
Third-Party Cookies
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse. When reCAPTCHA is loaded, Google may set cookies or read existing Google cookies on your browser. Google's use of data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Other than Google reCAPTCHA, we do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
Legal Basis (GDPR)
Under the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested do not require your consent. All authentication and session cookies we set fall into this category.
Functional cookies (local storage for notification preferences) and reCAPTCHA cookies are used on the lawful basis of legitimate interests — they are necessary to provide a functional, secure service.
Your Choices & Rights
- Browser settings: You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in or using key features of the platform.
- localStorage:You can clear localStorage at any time via your browser's developer tools or privacy settings. This will reset your notification preferences.
- reCAPTCHA: reCAPTCHA requires JavaScript and cookies to function. Disabling these will prevent form submissions that use reCAPTCHA.
